Dr. Jarom Heaton
Dr. Jarom Heaton is a dentist anesthesiologist and founder of SedaDent Anesthesia. Dr. Heaton grew up on a small farm in rural Utah. He learned how to work at an early age raising sheep, chickens and hogs on the family farm. He enjoyed playing sports with his four brothers and particularly enjoyed football. He lettered in football and track in high school.
Dr. Heaton has a bachelor’s degree in physical education with an emphasis in physical therapy from Brigham Young University. He completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at the University of Southern California. While at USC, Dr. Heaton was one of eight students selected to participate in a specialized anesthesia team by Dr. Stanley Malamad, a world renowned dentist anesthesiologist. As part of the anesthesia team he had the opportunity to work with Dr. James Tom, also a dentist anesthesiologist. Dr. Heaton so enjoyed his work with Dr. Tom and he decided to further his anesthesia education at the Ohio State University under the direction of Dr. Joel Weaver and Simon Prior.
After completing his residency in 2008 he graduated with a masters degree in anesthesia. Dr. Heaton has administered anesthesia to thousands of patients. He is noted for his warm personal approach and for his follow-up prior to and after the procedure. Dr. Heaton and his wife Kristy met while a student at BYU and they have seven children and enjoy participating in sports, music, and outdoor activities as a family.
